mi segunda lengua

so i finally had an LPAC meeting today (one of those teacher meetings for kids who speak a language other than English). we have to have a parent on the committee, and i was finally able to rope one in. but, like most parents who have kids in an ESL program, this father doesn't speak English. so this was my first opportunity to see how much i really learned this past year.

i am proud to say that i actually gave the training and led the meeting all in Spanish, and this father actually seemed to understand what was going on. i couldn't tell if he was offended by complete lack of ability to remember to use the usted (formal) form, but i think i was ok.

and on the topic of LPAC and work - i am now able to meet my first TEA deadline, assuming my students can remember to have their parents sign a piece of paper and bring it back on Tuesday - all over a 3 day weekend...
