a night of nostalgia

i went to college station on saturday night for the first time in over 4 years. a few friends of mine and i were headed to a swing dance and since none of them had ever been to college station, we took some extra time to eat at a local restaurant and take a mini tour of the campus. as we walked up to La Bodega, i was quickly reminded how casual CS is, as my friends and i were dressed up for the dance, and everyone around us was in shorts and a tshirt.

it was a little strange being on campus as a former student. with every turn i had memories of different things that had happened in that very spot, and while it seemed like so long ago, i couldn't believe it had been over 4 years (up to 8 years for some of those memories!).

i had also heard about some changes in the MSC and sure enough, it's been upgraded. there is now carpet in the hallway, and for anyone who ever enjoyed seeing the senior corp members slide up to the elevators, this is a huge disappointment. though the flag room looks much better with all new furniture, lamps and wifi, the new ivy league look doesn't give it quite the same relaxed feel that defines TAMU.

overall i had a wonderful time visiting my alma-mater. i'll have to go back in the daylight next time...hopefully to join the aggie's in their playful banter at a baseball game.

It was so great to share the evening/experience with you! LOVED walking around campus in between dinner and dancing! We need to go swing dancing sometime soon. My small group is going to take one Thursday off a month...that Thursday, let's go to the Fed! I'll keep you posted :)
