like a child
this year i have the pleasure of giving my room in austin to an amazing young lady. she sleeps in my bed. she works at dominican joe. she befriends sweet girls from kazakstan. she has breast cancer. she writes. and she sends care packages to missionaries in the dominican republic.in one of these packages i received a book titled Girl Meets God, by Lauren Winner. on page 271 she writes,
The senior warden at All Angels' writes poetry. He is just a beginner. He says he is forty-six writing poems college sophomores might write. "I feel encouraged about my potential," he tells me, "but painfully aware of my ignorance."
I tell him that is how I feel about being a Christian.
