trip to mexico
Each Thanksgiving, a group of people from my church, Grace Covenant Church, take a trip to Reynosa, Mexico to continue building relationships and ministry with people in the surrounding colonias. Along with several of my friends from my group at Grace, I will be joining this larger group this year to be involved in a variety of activities. Our group will be putting the finishing touches on a community bathroom, building 4 houses, a water tower and a distribution system which will carry water to the area churches. We will also be distributing blankets, rice and beans, praying and sharing with the people in the community. We will also be partnering with the church to host bible classes for the neighborhood children and participate in a mentorship program for the women. I am excited about this opportunity to continue working in foreign missions and to do ministry with my "family" here in Austin.
The first and biggest way you can participate in this trip is to pray for our time in Reynosa. We covet your prayers, as we know our work cannot be effective without them. Also, our goal as the career class at Grace is to raise enough money to finish these 4 houses, which comes to $6000 for our group. Please understand that I am not asking for money for myself to go on this trip - I have that part covered. If you decide to support us financially, your money will go towards helping finish these projects for the community in Reynosa. For many of you, all I am asking is for prayer, because I know that you also are involved in minsitry for which you depend on the financial support of others, or are simply not in a position to give financially. However, if you have been blessed financially and would like to partner with us in this ministry, we will be very grateful.

If you would like to remain anonymous to me, you can send your check directly to Grace Covenant (address below), with a sticky note attached indicating that is it for the career class trip to Reynosa.
