church support

i talked to Tom (the missions pastor at Grace Covenant Church) yesterday. i'm getting just under 17% of my total support that i need to raise. that is definitely a blessing.

and in other exciting news from the same meeting: Tom asked me about my long term goals, so i shared with him my desire to do a church-based ESL ministry. he put 2 and 2 together and realized that i am the one who emailed him about this about a year ago. although the church does not have the space for such a ministry right now, he is hoping to start a Spanish congregation when the new sanctuary is complete (in about a year or so). he also feels that ESL would be a great ministry and a great way to draw people in. he even mentioned trying to figure out some way i could make a living off doing this - whoa! he told me to definitely talk to him when i get back from my year in the DR. of course i do understand that this isn't a guaranteed job when i return, but at least there is interest. and that gives me hope of great things to come.
